Get excited fashion junkies…Jeffrey Fashion Cares is upon us! Jason Wu is the guest designer for 2011 and recently Dennis Dean was announced as honorary chair of the event. Sponsorships and limited tickets are available.

Over the past 18 years, Jeffrey Fashion Cares has grown into one of the largest combined AIDS and breast cancer benefits in the country, having raised approximately $9 million. Last year, 93 cents of every dollar raised went directly to the beneficiaries, Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta Affiliate and the Atlanta AIDS Fund (AAF). This year, a small donation will also be made to the Medical University of South Carolina’s Inflammation and Fibrosis Research Center of Excellence.

SPECIAL COMMUNITY EVENTS

The community/volunteers dinner and outdoor movie will be held Friday, June 3rd at 7:30 pm. ID check and entrance to the dinner is at the corner of Virginia and Greencove. This year, if you want to watch the parade, you can get dinner tickets at the top of the parade route, making it easier to watch and go straight to the dinner.

Parade: Friday night before the dinner (see details below). Prizes, including family passes to Georgia Aquarium, will be awarded.

Dinner: Bring ID to verify residency in Va-Hi. Location is Inman Middle School field.

Movie: The movie in 2011 will be “Megamind” and will begin at dusk (approximately 8:45pm).

Acoustic Street Party: Will be held at Virginia-Highland Island on Friday, June 3rd from 8:00pm to 11:00pm and on Saturday, June 4th from 9:00pm to 11:00pm

Back by popular demand, MARKET Buckhead will host Foodies and Fashionistas on Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Grab your girl friends and get your wardrobe season-ready! This fashion event is taking over the whole bottom floor of MARKET Buckhead, as some of the top boutiques in Atlanta showcase spring’s hottest trends! The evening will also include, of course, delicious seasonal fare and refreshing cocktails.

Fashion Uncorked is a design competition to benefit Easter Seals of North Georgia. The event promises to unleash Georgia’s top fashion talent as they compete to win an all-expenses-paid, behind-the-scenes studio tour with an international fashion designer in New York.

Beyond the runway show for the Top 10 Design Finalists, the evening will include a silent auction filled with fashion-related items, a tasting of specialty wine selections from premium vineyards, delectable bites from noted Atlanta chefs and a surprise celebrity host – all set against Artist Trifecta’s sprawling eco-chic 20,000 sq ft gallery space and inspired by high end fashion jewelry provided by Kaira Akita’s A Clothes Encounter.
