Fashion is a life-long love for Israel Vahaba, the founder and owner of Izzy Maternity. As a child who was born and raised in Israel, he loved helping his mother, a dressmaker, design and make clothing. After marrying, Vahaba moved to Atlanta during the 1970′s. He soon recognized a major need in the retail market for a store selling stylish maternity clothing and providing excellent customer service. Now, he has 20 years of experience in the business with a store in Alpharetta in North Point Village. This year he opened an in-town store with the help of friends and family in the Peachtree Battle Promenade shopping center on Peachtree Street in Buckhead. Vahaba hopes to continue expanding the Izzy Maternity brand throughout the Southeast. Maternity clothing styles and lines have come and gone during Vahaba’s years in the business, but his attention to customers and love for quality fashion has remained constant. Because he knows what works on the pregnant figure and what doesn’t, Vahaba often collaberates closely with maternity designers to create unique maternity wear that keeps his customers on the cutting edge of fashion.
